SILVER CREEK Original composition by Dale Winding down the hills of Northern Illinois, Is a small winding creek I swam in as a boy. The creek was very special to all the hometown folks, Just big and wide enough for canoes and rowboats. The name of this creek running shallow then deep, It’s an old time name, you know it’s Silver Creek. Straight from God’s hands this small creek runs, The clear water glistening in the bright noon day sun. Like this small creek we too have been blessed, With undying love through joy and distress. This small stream has taught me the way I should live, We must all keep going and continue to give. Silver Creek running so straight and so true. Just like this love we have , me and you. Silver Creek keep going until the end of time. Like the love we share, yours and mine. As we grow older the stream still flows on, Forever and ever through sunsets and dawns. Silver Creek is a small part of the plan that God has, Like our love he’s made with his own hands. The two greatest gifts God has given to me, Are the love that we share and that quaint little stream. |
